Editorial policy

How we source, verify, publish and correct.

Sourcing

Every factual claim traces to a source we can name. Articles carry a sources list with the publisher, the source publication time and the time we retrieved it, all recorded separately from our own publication time.

We prefer, in order: an official statement from the manufacturer or publisher; an authorised feed or API; a document we can verify; a named person on the record. An anonymous claim is labelled as such and never presented as confirmed.

Verification

Release dates, prices and product specifications carry a source link and the time they were last checked. Where a fact has been imported from a source connector rather than entered by an editor, the record keeps that provenance. Conflicting observations are retained rather than quietly discarded.

Uncertainty is published as uncertainty. A date can be confirmed, expected, reported or unknown, and the page says which. An unknown value is shown as unknown, never as zero and never as a guess.

What imports may and may not do

Discovering a product through a source connector creates a reviewable record, not an article. Nothing reaches the public site without an editor approving it. When an editor corrects a field by hand, that field is locked: a later import may propose a change to it but can never apply one automatically.

Optional AI assistance

The publication runs without any AI provider configured. Where drafting assistance is enabled, it may summarise identified sources, suggest classifications and propose headlines. It may not invent release dates, scarcity, print runs, quotes, prices or firsthand experience, and every draft goes to a human editor before publication. Source text is treated as data, never as instructions.

Independence

We do not accept payment for editorial coverage. Advertising and sponsorship never influence what we cover or how we rank it. Sponsored posts are labelled on every surface they appear on, including listings and feeds. See disclosures.

Corrections

When we get something wrong we fix it, say what changed and when, and leave the correction on the page. Substantive updates set a meaningful updated date; a typo fix does not. Report an error on the corrections page.

Unpublishing

We do not quietly delete published work. If an article has to come down, we say so. Note that an image already served from a public URL can persist in caches after the article is unpublished; our handling of that is documented in the operations guide.

What we are not

We are not financial advisers and nothing here is investment advice. We do not publish market valuations, and we do not infer sold prices from asking prices.
