The largest checklist we have parsed runs to 15,896 cards. The smallest runs to 3. Both are current products, and the gap between them is the single most useful thing a new collector can understand about modern sets.
Which sets are the largest?
- 2026 Leaf Metal Baseball: 15,896 cards
- 2026 Pro Set Metal Baseball: 12,974 cards
- 2026 Pro Set Metal Football: 12,704 cards
- 2026 Leaf Optichrome Football: 12,043 cards
- 2026 Leaf Metal Women of Sport: 9,865 cards
A checklist of this size is not one set in the old sense. It is a base set multiplied by its parallel finishes, where each finish is a separate entry with its own print run. 15,896 entries does not mean 15,896 different photographs.
Which sets are the smallest?
- Disney Lorcana: EPCOT Festival of the Arts: 3 cards
- Disney Lorcana: Curator's Collection: Heroines Edition: 6 cards
- Disney Lorcana: PD1: 8 cards
- Disney Lorcana: Challenge Promo: 9 cards
- Disney Lorcana: D23 Collection: 9 cards
At the other end are promotional and collection releases that exist as a handful of cards. A set of under a dozen is a complete thing you could hold in one hand.
What is a typical set size?
The median published checklist we hold runs to 798 cards, across 313 published sets. The average is dragged upward by the parallel-heavy products at the top, which is why the median is the more useful number of the two.
Why does set size matter?
Because it decides whether completing the set is a project or an impossibility, and the number on the box does not tell you which. A base set of a few hundred cards inside a checklist of fifteen thousand is a reasonable goal; the checklist total is not. Before starting a set, the number to find is the base run, not the entry count.
